Here is a beautiful and colorful recipe postcard with the famous Florida dessert – orange pie.
Beside the greetings Jenny is motivates me to enjoy this dessert as well. To be honest i have tried with mandarins, because those are on the photo and to be fair, I like more mandarins than oranges. But i promise next winter i will try with oranges too. It very uncommon for our country, but why not, when is really delicious.
Here are the directions (that are written on the back of the postcard)
Combine orange juice, sections, grated rind, sugar and cornstarch. Cook on low heat until clear. Add a little hot mixture to beaten egg yolks. Return to hot mixture and cook about 5 minutes more. Remove from heat.
Blend in lemon juice, butter or margarine. Pour into baked pie shell. Be sure filling and shell are both hot or both cold. Cover filling with meringue. Bake in heated oven on 200 T Celsius until lightly browned.
